Milan, Italy. February 2015.
I celebrated my 38th year of existence on earth- above it. Get it? I was on the plane on the evening of my birthday on my way to Milan for work. I wasn’t so sentimental about it as I thought I would be. I was excited to go for MICAM. I’ve stopped traveling for work after giving birth to Roque but not because I had him but because Justin was out of the country for weeks or a month at a time and I simply made the decision to stay back and do part time as my boss has allowed me to. It was a great time because I was able to focus on home- when we we acquired ur home and because I had to run all errands for both of us and the kids. Then i got pregnant with Mattias- simply put, my traveling career was “kaput” from that time onwards.

I got a job that allowed me to stay put in Singapore- but that story was over before it even began. And as fate would have it, I was led back to my previous job. I knew that coming back to this would having me rack up my frequent flyer miles, but I learnt that there are some things that we must do for ourselves- to become better at what we love to do. If we want to learn and have our children hopefully pursue their passions- then shouldn’t I be doing the same in my own story? So 2 months back into the job and over 3 weeks worth of traveling later, I have begun this journey which I abruptly left awhile ago… I am 38- none the wiser, but I think I am ready to face the music and start afresh.
